How to Upload to a Canon Camcorder SD Card
There are three main methods for uploading to your Canon camera SD card: via the camera, via an external USB card reader, and via a computer's built-in SD card reader. You can upload any type of file to your SD card. Some people like to back up their important documents or simply use an SD card as portable storage. Your computer, Mac or PC, should not require any software beyond the operating system to complete the task for most modern Canons.
1、Insert the SD card into your Canon camera. Connect a mini USB cable to the computer and to the USB port on your camera. This cable usually comes with your camera. If not, purchase the cable separately. Turn on the camera.
2、Move files to your Canon SD card. In Windows, access the SD card from "My Computer." In Mac OS X, access the SD card from the desktop. Drag and drop the files you want into the card. If you want pictures to be visible on the camera's LCD screen, place them within the numbered Canon folder (Canon100, for example) inside the DCIM folder. Only JPEG files will be visible.
3、Use a card reader to upload photos to an SD card. Your computer may have a built-in SD card reader, which requires no cables. Insert your SD card into the reader and follow Step 2. If you have an external USB card reader, plug the card reader into your computer's USB port, insert the SD card, and follow Step 2.
4、Eject the card through the operating system before physically removing the card. In Windows, eject the card by right-clicking on the drive icon in "My Computer" and selecting "eject." In OS X, drag the disk icon to the trash. Eject the card to ensure that the computer or the camera is not accessing the card when you remove it. This reduces the chances of corrupting data on your card.
